Cold Wet Day

Posted by johnbensley on October 10, 2011 at 7:20 PM

Cold and windy day preaching and talking with people about Jesus.

Jeremy sharing the gospel with a couple... I understand there was contrition and even understanding... but expression that he wasn't ready yet... pray.

Courthouse for Christmas Break

Posted by johnbensley on January 5, 2011 at 4:11 PM

Chelsea using her Christmas break from school to go to the courthouse with dad. Today we definitely were humbled by the prayer requests from people. Also, there were many who heard the gospel.

Today, a woman heard Luke 12... I don't believe she had ever heard it before. If you had only see her face as I read it to her... brokenness...

Courthouse then Stone Mountain

Posted by johnbensley on January 4, 2011 at 12:46 PM

Chelsea got up extra early to go to the courthouse with me today. It was a blast... and cold. Afterward we went to Stone Mountain to walk, talk, and look at God's creation.
While at the courthouse today a woman said to Chelsea, "You have no idea how badly I needed this today..." Praise the Lord.

Courthouse

Posted by johnbensley on January 3, 2011 at 10:45 AM

Today Pastor Wood and Papa joined me at the courthouse. We talked to a few and preached some. There was much noise the entire time as there were inmates winterizing the landscaping.
The picture above shows a page ripped out of a booklet from Institute for Creation Research. Papa tore the pages out one by one and used them as gospel tracts... praise the Lord!
Glory to God alone.

Bible Project Update

Posted by johnbensley on December 24, 2010 at 10:43 AM

This project has a few things left to accomplish before the actual "project" begins. So far I've communicated with thirty or so people who are saying they want to help glorify the Lord this way. There are ten or eleven who are ready to go right now.

The camera/sound configuration has been settled on and prayed about much. We are praying and believing that the Lord will provide. To do this project with quality, we need just under $2000. This will cover the camera x 2, the tripod x 2, the mixer, mics, and Sony software.

If the Lord wills, please help us as this year rounds out to an end. We love you and God bless you. Merry Christmas.

Cold day, but there were many who heard the gospel today. Many said thank you and praise the Lord. However, there was one interesting conversation today...

Walking Guy with Greasy Hair and Smoking walks up to me, “They should lock you up!”

Me: Smile, “Maybe we could share a cell.”

WGWGHAS: “I’d kill myself!” ...

Me: “That would be awful.” ~ no sarcasm

WGWGHAS: “I hate &*%$@ people like you!”

Me: “I love people like you.”

WGWGHAS: “Go to hell!”

Me: “Jesus died so that we don’t have to. If you will repent and…”

WGWGHAS: “Whatever! &*%$@!”

Putting out his cigarette and walked off.… God can save him. I hope this guy trusts Jesus as Lord. Maybe one of his friends will share the gospel with him. I hope he doesn’t die first.

Vance serving today at the courthouse. It seemed that most everyone we talked to today were professing Christians. There were a few prayer times that we were part of by God's grace. God is good.

We only spent an hour or so at Gwinnett, then we drove to Gainesville, Georgia and spent an hour or so there at the Hall County Courthouse.

After this we came back to my home to read the word of God together... Overall, a 10 out of 10 with a good friend.

Don sharing passionately the gospel of Jesus.

Today was warm. 90+ degrees even though we are approaching fall. The Lord is faithful and will accomplish with His word what he purposes it to do. And today the word still went forth.

Carolina joined us today as a laborer and encourager. Glory to our Lord!

Mulberry Park

Posted by johnbensley on September 17, 2010 at 2:02 PM

Set up today at Mulberry Park to video my "introduction" to the ministry DVD today. I was very sick, and still am. Please pray.

Spoke to a lady passing by for a while after I finished video work. She was encouraged and was an encouragement in the Lord. I love meeting believers who love the Lord.

In this picture on the left you see Paul speaking with a couple ladies who were passing by and on the right is Pastor Wood sharing the gospel with a new friend.

Paul sharing Bible with a couple ladies and also getting information so that he can mail them biblical resources.

When I first arrived rolling up with my prayer station, Paul was already at work engaging the culture.

Pastor coming up to the courthouse was indeed a blessing to Paul and me. We didn't get much time to speak to each other as one or two of us were always busy talking about the gospel of Jesus with someone.
